The Institute for Global Awareness was established in January of 2008 as an interdisciplinary educational and service organization whose purpose is to foster geographical/intercultural knowledge and understanding which will be invaluable assets to individuals in the globalized world.
This innovative program is designed as a supplemental educational enrichment opportunity for the high school students and communities at large to foster intellectual and social development, help to maintain competitiveness in a global market, encourage employment opportunities in the fields of geography and international relations, and raise awareness of green-collar jobs and business initiatives.
